I'm very here for the album being a moderate, slow burner with a couple of singles that sit comfortably a little lower on the charts, and for longer. I feel like that kind of success is perfect for Gaga - as then she gets a longer period of time to promote more organically and produce what she wants artistically. Conversely, gunning for a 3-week #1 single or whatever can often result in a condensed, squashed and squeezed period (The Voice on Monday! 10 radio interviews Tuesday morning! Rushed MV arrives Wednesday! Tour starts Thursday!) - and isn't conducive to the experience of a very exciting era in my opinion.
If 'Million Reasons' keeps on a similar trajectory, I feel like it might turn into a nice song to have in her arsenal to pull out every couple of weeks whilst doing promo and performances. No need to saturate it insanely at the cost of the integrity of the song and its treatment.
