David Babaii didn't do Xtina's hair last night. He hasn't worked with her in months. He recently posted on IG about picking up a new music client at Capitol Records. Is it safe to say he has been fired?
Tonight for the first live show Christina's hair was completely back off the face, so I kept the makeup glowy with a contoured eye socket, using the Kristofer Buckle "day to night" palette. Lots of lash and her signature red glossy lip ("blue red” by LipSense). It's a modern approach to the look we did for her Bionic album.
Hair stylist, Giannandrea Marongiu:
"The waterfall blow out " - A modern sleek style: I started with wet hair, and then applied Macadamia Volumizing Mousse to the top of the head to amplify the top volume only. I blow dried the top of the head with a mid size round brush upward and backward and the length with a large round brush downward to create a straight sleek shape yet keeping the volume.
I kept the sides very flat behind the ear and let the hair length drop straight back, after that I used a flat iron to flatten all around the back. This style is about keeping a top volume and a sleek side and back.
I used a dab of Macadamia oil to increase the shine all around, brushed the hair back one more time to keep the shape and finalized the look with a dry soft hold hair spray. I call the style the waterfall blow out, meaning that the top is round and then it drops straight down creating a soft, but edgy finish.
WARDROBE:
Tonight we wanted to go for a super strong and modern look for the first night of the Lives! Slick backed hair and strong makeup paired with a white Versace skirt suit made the "boss" look complete. The accent of gold jewels also gave Christina a feminine, yet strong vibe.
Jewels by Jacquie Aiche and Broken English jewelry

This will be AMAZING or Terrible for India. Amazing because the song and her slays, and Terrible because singing a Legend's song on The Voice is a curse for every single contestant.
