1) Say the phrase out loud or at least in your head.
If it sounds right move on to step 2
2) Sing the phrase out loud or in your head at some imaginary pace that doesn't have to be a polished melody. Just try to see if it fits any kind of a meter or rhythm. I can do it without singing it, but if you're new at it, singing it would be the easiest way to do it.
