There is no legit proof that she shot the album packaging but I don't think she randomly captioned the pics "R8" if it wasn't R8-related. She's not doing this for attention, or else she would caption more of her pics with "#R8", if not all her pics.
There's also more than 1 legit proof that the R8 experience thing was a video shoot for the single.

Even without the album she would have to do heavy promo for HOME. She is top billing along with Jim Parsons and Steve Martin. Battleship was practically an ensemble cast and she was still traveling the globe, doing press junkets, etc.
