B'Day was written away from his control with her own assembled team, and it's a masterpiece. IASF was not and its bland and caters too much to radio taste. Plus the quote I shared was in reference to the songs that she wrote (or wrote most of), or the ones that we can clearly tell is the Beyoncé voice, not the Ryan Tedder voice she effortlessly translates for us.
Not to mention that saying "I don't try to change my songs so everyone else likes them" doesn't mean that she can't like a song like Halo on her own terms.
