I mean, "stan" is based on the eminem song right? Think of him. He was more about passion. Driving himself off a bridge for his fanship. That's what it's about!
Omg y'all lets plan a group suicide for Hilary!!!

I was definitely just kidding with that only a true stan comment...

I wrote an interesting little entry on one of Hilary's singles for my ATRL's Next Top Member submission. Well, hopefully interesting. I'll link you guys to it once it's posted, I think it'd be interesting to see how the stans feel about it.

Ah well, it's the Internet and I still don't know you all that well yet on a non-"let's insult eachother" basis lololol. We'll figure it out!

Naw, just different. It's too flawless a song to ridicule (seriously, anyway).

I agree with ALL of this. Some of these Hilary stans think that stanning is defined by how many Hilary items you have when they don't even know basic facts about her career and need help defending her in debates. Sidenote: This is a general statement about a lot of Hilary's fans. Not just one person.

The shade.
Can we get into Dignity (the song) and how it would have smashed?
So many iconic lines:
You never get the blues,
It's always about you
Run into your friend's ex,
He's happy to be your next
Where's your, where's your, where's your Dignity?
Pick it up, pick it up, it's all you got, it's all you got
Cause money makes your world go round
I never saw its TRUE single potential until just 20 minutes ago. With a Stupid Girls like video and radio adds date, it could have smashed and possibly become her signature hit.

You're trying to buy my vote by using one of my faves?

Never. I love Hilary myself, I just don't stan for her, even though I worship her music/movies/persona. There were only two songs from my iTunes library that worked for the challenge, and they were both Hilary tracks.

Please become an active participant when she returns. Sometimes it gets a little lonely in here.

You just saw the true potential 20 minutes ago? Child, you are about five years too late. I remember one critic saying that Dignity was miles ahead of Stupid Girls and it had more bite to it. I lived.

I mean I always saw potential and thought it could hit top 20 on radio but I was randomly shopping and Dignity came on my iPhone and it hit me. The song was not only fresh, it's still very current.
I could have seen it peaking at #6 on radio and #10 - #16 on the Hot 100.

Definitely. Dignity was my most played album at one point in 2009. :> I spent most of today jamming to her second album. "Weird" especially. The only song I don't use from that record is "Underneath This Smile", which is just alright.

I don't feel all that excitement for "Dignity". I usually skip it when it comes on =\ I guess when I heard it was the name of an album & a song, I expected something different. A topic of more substance than just hollywood. But yeah actually it is similar (but better) to "Stupid Girls" so I can defs see the mainstream appeal there.

soma80 from the Selena thread said he would be in this thread once Hilary's next album came out. He says that he loved throughout all her career until her break.

Thanks.

IKR?
You know, for Hilary's next album I'd like to hear vocals like the ones on "Hilary Duff" combined with the sound that Dignity had, or something in that line...that would be just perfect < 3
