I swear, you all are so stuck up on first week sales. Stop acting as if this defines how the era will do automatically. Remember Teenage Dream' opening numbers? Look at how successful that era was.
It's been proven that Katy isn't a strong first week seller; she has longevity, and already has the promo for this album lined up. She knows what she's doing. Stop complaining.
Thats all??? Her fans penn her the female MJ and iconic number one singles but only pulls numbers like this? I personally think its very underwhelming.
287k isn't too bad but the mentality that this era will be another Teenage Dream era because it opened so low is hilarious.
It'll take an incredible amount of odds to beat for Katy to spawn 6 #1 hits from an album. The reason Teenage Dream sold so well was because of all the hits.
I still see Prism having a good run but don't get your hopes up for another TD-sized era.
Still not a singles artist? She has the biggest radio spromo in history, she had massive promo and that is all? Why bother boast about having 3 songs in the top20 if that is the result? Sorry, but it is underwhelming
It's funny how people say that she's not about first week sales when Roar had a huge debut and broke a record going 3X platinum and that fast, yet, her albums struggle to get high nombers.
