UK acts are so great. I am obsessed with Britpop. Adele, Ed Sheeran, One Direction, Cheryl Cole, Jessie J, Emeli Sande, Florence + the Machine, Marina & the Diamonds, Charli XCX, Paloma Faith, Florrie, Lily Allen, Rita Ora... and this is just a small fraction of what the UK has to offer.
