She doesn't make music with a certain set of people in mind
It'd be dumb for an artist to say "let me make music that will be enjoyed outside the US" if her heart is telling her to make the type of music that she did. Artists don't owe their fans anything, and if you don't like the output, just move on to someone else. Simple as that
