Yeah they're definitely at a disadvantage, it certainly doesn't seem impossible though. If France had a better and more exciting staging this year they would've had a better chance, too.

This. Plus the fact he performed just once to the gp (yesterday), with such a simple staging made him "forgettable". Otherwise I'm pretty sure he would have won.


I still can't at Belgium, Lithuania, Poland getting more votes than Italy, Austria, Serbia, Spain. Why the **** did Poland get so many votes from the public?

Germany plays it too safe imo. We had Fahrenhaidt, Betty Dittrich etc. and the GP votes for Ann Sophie And I don't understand why Jamie performed her TVOG winner song. They should've made her a new song.

I'm pretty nationalistic but everyone and their dog knows Poland televote wins are just so many cause of migrate votes, the new Turkey. It doesn't matter who Poland sends cause they will vote regardless. But Poles will run with this and claim that they got 3rd because it was so good

My two cents on the current voting system: I do like the new format and it does make the voting a lot more exciting, but there are few things that are bothering me.

- 4 people in the jury have the same amount of impact as a whole country. I know it was like this before but it just feels a different now. Plus it's obvious that a lot of the jury is still biased.

-The bundled televoting is so harsh to the counties that didn't get a lot points. It's just a slap in the face to the bottom 10 and not fun for them at, especially Czech Republic this year.

- The jury actually representing a country during the voting and not the people themself. The way it's currently presented with each country giving their votes just isn't doing it for me. The jury doesn't speak for the whole county while it does looks like that. For example: Norway not giving any points to Sweden. It just feels weird and not Eurovision

- If I vote for a country, I want it to be seen. I want it to show 'Belgium gave 12 points to ...', with the actual votes from the people. Televoting receives such little screentime that it feels a lot less important. I voted for a bunch of songs this year, but with the current format I'm probably not going to vote as much next year, since it feels less important and people aren't going to see what I voted for anyways.


In conclusion: The current system works in melodifestivalen but not on such a big scale with different countries competing, and should be tweaked. Imo, they should announce the televoting first, 1-12 and then add the jury points. The televoting had been such a big part of Eurovision and it should receive more attention. Even if the public has an awful taste (Poland 3rd this year)
