I'm not sure - the Japanese group Mr. Children has already sold 266,754 copies in Japan after 2 days.

Japanese Midweeks:

ALBUMS
x->1 - Mr.Children - 156,808 (x1.7) = 266,574
1->2 - EXILE - 22,778 + 20,568 (x1.7) = 73,688
x->3 - Hikawa Kiyoshi - 4,554 (x1.7) = 7,742

Hopefully they don't sell over 500K so Britney can get the #1.

IKR? It annoys me how international acts can't sell that much records ever in Japan yet Japanese artists are able to sell a gazillion records in one week alone.

I hate the japanese bands rite now, I hate they don't even sing a **** but they sells records like candies, it's so damn atrocious anyway they just know is Japan in less words they are nobody

It's weird because they are more "technologized" than any other country. So I would assume they would take the most advantage of illegal downloading.

The Japanese are only truly loyal to the domestic acts - the top selling album of 2008 has sold 1.5 million copies from guess who - Exile. In comparison to the top digital single which is Thelma Aoyama's Sobuna Irune selling almost 9 million copies digitally.

The top selling foreign album of 2008 is Viva La Vida shifting 285K, followed by Hard Candy selling 255K. Miles Away is the top selling foreign download selling 800,000 copies. That's one thing they got right I guess.
