I actually agree. Hopefully, next year we'll hear more national languages. I personally want to hear Balkan ballads again, not like the one B&H had this year tho, and an ethnic song from Greece in Greek language.

I don't think the Nordic countries will change their approach tho.

Running Scared barely reached the top 10 on iTunes in any countries... and look at Believe, Russia's winner from 2008, which was outcharted by several other entries. It only charted in Germany (#52) and Sweden (#28).

Me neither. Iceland did something folkish this year and flopped maybe Norway could send something like I evighet by Elisabeth Andreassen which came 2nd in 1996 and would still stand out today.

Heroes reached the top 10 in almost all relevant EU markets, I doubt this will do the same...

Yes, he would have probably charted higher it he won a few years later when the digital age was at its peak.

Idk what they would send but they need to step the f up their game. In 2014 and 2015 juries saved them from embarrassment and this year even they couldn't help. They should maybe go back to the semi finals system they had in MGP because it was the last time they had a good result with the public.

I agree completely. One of my gripes with Eurovision is that a lot of the songs are so generic. I get that they want lighthearted bops, but some of the songs are generic to the point where they're just bland. Whether they sing in their native language or in English, I would love for the music production to be more influenced by the countries and their roots. Jamala got it right – even in Sergey's song, you can hear strings in the very beginning that sound Russian (I associated them with the movie Anastasia, so that might just be me )

I suspect Norway to go back to semis for the MGP just to get more wheels on the songs that might represent them in Kyiv/Lviv/Odessa/Kharkiv.

I really hope that the UK tries the Song For Europe selection again. J&J got slapped by the public but I don't think they should have. Ireland needs a proper Eurosong in a space that is not the Late Late Show

And I'm going back to watching Australia and Russia fume on Twitter.
