Yeah, it's the number that comes up when you search for 2015 members through the member search, which appears to only show confirmed users.

400 registrations in one day? with only two short windows? That's such a strong testament to how huge this site is, and the role it plays within the pop culture community. It's exciting to see all these fresh faces pour in!

Please stop asking. Athens has given information recently, look for that. If it doesn't cover what you want to know, then we aren't ready to release it at this time. I and others have already told you have patience and wait - it's soon. The fact that we're adding new members at all should be a testament to this. That's all we have to say right now.

I am curious to see if the site just leaves registrations open after the upgrade.

On the one hand, it would flood the servers and possibly overwhelm the mods.

O the other hand, I think the quality of members we get is lower since it essentially boils down to only people who are randomly browsing ATRL at 2/3 AM... which kind of eliminates anyone going to school or with an actual job.

It really wouldn't flood the servers post-update, we should be able to handle it.

Expansion of the staff is something we would consider as it becomes necessary.

I think the quality of ATRL members is probably just changing in your eyes as you get older relative to the members - ATRL has always attracted people primarily from 16 - 21 or so, with smaller numbers that are older or younger. An actual job is something that doesn't really come until later if you're going to school, and I don't think school itself is an inhibiting factor (I was hugely active on here my Junior year of High School, became a mod near the beginning of Senior year, and began attending a top university almost exactly a year ago, and I'm still here).

If the registration opened for a full 24 hours we would get well over new 1000 members

It's good cause with so many new members the trolls would have to try two times harder to be noticed and then be banned quickly, in other way the server is not ready.
