Omg I was completely blindsided by this reveal because I expected Shulk since his people RTed that tweet last week. I am ELATED that this was not one of the Gematsu leak's remaining three. I am very pleased that it is Robin because I feel like this game was really lacking in the caster department. My hype is restored now knowing that we don't know all the newcomers. This was the best thing to wake up to.

I've been rooting for Krystal since Brawl just so the Star Fox characters have some variety given her staff and all, but I'm aware that she is not the most relevant character.

Just watched it! WOW. I'm so glad I was surprised. I never played an FE game before but IDC.

Although Lucina does look like a Marth clone...

Robin looks very unique. Love it. That final smash has a LOT of detail...

So now we are at 36 characters (38 if you count all 3 Mii styles). 37/38 is how many fighters we had in Brawl.

+2 for Ness and Jiggly = 40
Assuming at least Falco and Lucas return = 42
And probably 2-3 more newcomers = 44-45
Seems reasonable.

There is a lot of arguing going on elsewhere about Lucina's status right now. I'm leaning towards her being an alt costume for Marth. They share moves and even some animations already. That's cloning done too far if she is her own character. Plus all the focus seems to be on Robin on the official sites.

I remember when it was confirmed there was a voice actor for Krystal, but it turns out it was just for story mode.

You're leaving out Meta Knight, Ice Climbers, Mr. Game and Watch, R.O.B., Ganondorf, and Wario (and Wolf? I would like seeing Krystal replace him though).

So maybe around 52?

If she was just a costume, she wouldn't have gotten her own page and them dubbing her as a new challenger. She's probably just a Marth clone, tbh. Male Wii Fit Trainer didn't get his own page.

Likely because the male Wii Fit Trainer is still Wii Fit Trainer (as female Villager is still Villager, and female Robin is still Robin).

I just find it strange how her box on the site is small (I know it isn't mobile), she has no poster of her own, and no video attached like Robin does. And her tagline had a ? in it in the video.

I wouldn't be leaning toward alt costume if she didn't share an idle animation with Marth. That is cloning like we've never seen before and the deal sealer for me. But I'm not certain to any extent of course and I'm still happy with her addition.

Although I don't use ROB, he's a very unique character! I can't see them leaving him out.

I hope the rest of the Brawl cast (except Snake and Wolf), Krystal, Ridley, and another Zelda rep appear.

I'm not very familiar with the Zelda series, so I have no idea who will join lol.

Fi and Impa would be great choices from LoZ, as would Ganon and Girahim. LoZ and Pokemon really need more representatives.

I wouldn't be shocked if Captain Toad becomes a character in the next SSB.

Ridley is Metroid's only other iconic character and it would definitely be cool to see how he changes the dynamic of gameplay with his size/constant flying.

Lucina is boring and could be a Marth alt costume for all I care because I'm not feeling her.

Ghirahim would be amazing as another Zelda rep. Watch them put Groose in though...

Actually I can already see the Zelda video in my mind. I don't follow it but i can see them having Ganondorf and some non-Zelda character battle and then a new Zelda character appear half-way through.

Then they do the same for Ridley. Is that the boss guy from Brawl? They could pair him with Rayquaza in a boss battle and then have Mewtwo come in as the final reveal (I pray)
