See, I'm going to dispute this. Workplaces including supermarkets generally have predetermined playlists and albums and their contents depend entirely on the people choosing them, as well as trends at any given time. I've also never been to a bar that played a Rihanna song or any pop girl song.
But even so, say I concede all this - say it's all correct and true. I'm confused as to how this matters? The fundamental argument that NX127 has been trying to make lately, if the few posts I catch are any indication, are that Beyoncé's album sales don't matter and Rihanna is fundamentally more significant because of her disproportionately high singles sales, streams, and AI.
Are we really going to pretend that selling several times as much in albums at double the price isn't, wel, bigger? Are we all going to pretend that touring doesn't exist?
I love Rihanna, but to challenge Beyoncé's position right now is just silly.
