DWG has a point, Britney would be probably the only BIG artist releasing something in January (if she did that) and she would be #1 like everywhere for weeks/months, BUT, albums released in January don't sell much. "Circus" sold over like 800K in its first week I believe if Britney released in January 300K would be pushing it a little bit, but she would be capable of. If Britney does not put a new album this year then I think I want it between March and May, because people get their money together again and actually pay attention to her.

I know! And that's what makes headlines: "Britney on top of the Billboard 200 for 4 weeks," "Britney sits on top of the Billboard 200 for 8 non-consecutive weeks," and after a re-release at Christmas, "Britney's at the top of the Billboard 200 for the eleventh time in 2011." Girl could set some kind of record, perhaps? Has an album gone #1 after its re-release? And don't bother mentioning The Fame here because that's an entirely different situation.
800K worldwide, you're talking, right? 'Cause worldwide, I'd think she'd sell more than 300K in her first week (even in January). Wasn't the whole purpose of Ke$ha's early 2010 Animal release to get people to spend their money from their iTunes gift cards from Christmas on her? She sold 146K (I
think that's the right number) and only had out one single by then. Mind you, it was a smash, but we're talking Britney here. She's a
legend!

Anyway, my final word, if not new single this year, then I hope it comes out like in March and album in May just like foxay said.

Agreed. If it doesn't come out in early 2011, it will definitely be out by May. That's when they released Oops.
