B'Day is my ultimate favorite era and album (including 4 as an album), and coincidentally, those are the ones she had complete control over. Matthew was much involved during IASF/DIL. At this point, I place the importance of making art and great music over commercial success again. Any commercial/mainstream success is just the cherry on top now.
