I'd respect Katy if she copied Gaga in the risk taking department. She's far too safe. Like, she should have actually made the era darker.

i was kinda of excited for a dark era, then Roar came out. she does chessy pop good (not my cup of tea) but if she wants to be truly respected, she needs to move away from pop. same with Gaga and EDM pop/ dance pop.
A Katy Perry "Dark" album would be ****, I'd rather she stayed true to herself and release music that truly speaks to her life than force out a "Oh no, I'm so moody and depressed, look at all the black in my imagery!" era. Has anyone ever benefited from going "Dark"? It seems to kill more careers than it boosts.
Benjamin has a point. Katy can't really go dark when everything in her life seems revoltingly light and peppy and happy. She can stay a kids act for all I care cuz she wouldn't really be able to serve a quality dark album.
nobody thinks Katy should start making dark music, just mature one. but she is not stupid, she knows her fan base are children and she will flop if she starts making respectable music.
Patricia gave an amazing performance in Boyhood. Vin doesn't like anyone but 5 actors/actresses because they're winning over his faves so it doesn't get you anywhere discussing with him about it.
