It's all about marketing, really. For "Bangerz" she was marketed a certain way and it worked to some extent. I don't think it hurt her credibility because contrary to popular opinion, she was NEVER respected pre-Bangerz. She's Hannah Montana, for Walt Disney's sake.

But someone once said the GP forgives and forgets almost anything as long as you offer something really good (an amazing movie, song, album, etc.) and it's probably true.

If Miley changes her act for the next phase and her team creates this aura of "real artist with true music" around her, even when she's still releasing sub-par music for the most part (Sam Smith, Beyoncé, P!nk, etc.) she'll finally be respected by the GP and the critics.

Basically, the best she could do is pulling an Angelina Jolie post- Billy Bob and become a saint. I just want her to slay all the way, not more half-assed success. Miley has a little bit of everything: hits, album sales, cultural impact, great touring gross and some kind of acclaim but it's like she's not able to have it all in a single era.

Making year-end lists is honestly kinda more impressive than a high(er) Metacritic score. DEMI and Prism have higher scores than Boogerz but did they make year-end critic lists? (Serious question, I don't know.)

Agreed. 100% i agree.

That's why I don't mind a hippie/psychedelic era because i feel like it'll cater to more of the general public than the 'ratchet' persona she had, and what people like to call it. I feel like working with Wayne Coyne will benefit whether we like it or not

I'm gunna need Ke$ha to write Miley some hit ballads too, or Sia to give her a Diamonds/Chandelier baby. If Miley started her next era with a mid tempo pop kinda ballad, it would def make people raise their eyebrows a bit and look at Miley differently. Sometimes i picture other people singing other songs or how would they sound and I think how 'Diamonds' would be a perf song for Miley to have released the following era esp with the whole hippie thing she's got going

The way TheMCTimes says certain stuff, it makes it seem like she has no idea how things work. Like why on earth would she only get one more single? Even Ke$ha got three, maybe four singles for the Warrior era. Even Xtina got four for Bionic.
