I hope you're all ready for what's sure to be another fantastic season of Platinum Hit, whether this is your first time playing or you're now a Platinum Hit regular. 69 of you have signed up to participate in the latest season of ATRL's hit songwriting game so far, and now the time has come to put your talents to the test. CHALLENGE #1
THE INTROS & INTERLUDES CHALLENGE
In previous seasons of Platinum Hit, the last two seasons specifically, all that has been required during the first round was one verse and one chorus of an incomplete song in order to show the judges what you've got. This season, we're throwing you right into the deep end. That's right, we don't want just a verse and a chorus. This challenge is to write a complete song; an intro or interlude for your very own album.
Typically, intros and interludes are much shorter than regular songs. That is the goal for this challenge, to give us a taste of what you're made of before showing us everything that you've got. Intros and interludes can be of varying lengths, but for this challenge, think of something between 1-2 minutes long when read aloud. You don't have to use a conventional structure of verse, chorus, bridge... in fact that would be advised against.
We're just looking for a taste of what you have to offer, but it has to read as a complete piece of work from beginning to end, and leave us wanting more... hanging on to every word wanting to hear the next song. Be sure to include whether your song is an intro or an interlude in your entry. You must submit one or the other, not both!
