Both songs would be a lot higher if they were released on the middle or earlier this year

CHERYL - "A Million Lights"
 | Released: June 15, 2012
Genre: Pop, R&B, dance-pop
Label: Fascination
Producer: Alex da Kid, Calvin Harris, will.i.am, Jaylien Wesley, Pantha, Agent X, HyGrade, Dada Life, Kid Gloves, Jim Beanz, Taio Cruz, Mathias Wollo, The Beamer Boyz, Billy Wes, Electric, Bibi Jones, Dave Munday
TOP 5 TRACKS:
01. Call My Name
02. Girl in the Mirror
03. Screw You (featuring Wretch 32)
04. Last One Standing
05. All Is Fair
To be honest, I am maybe one of the minority to be near extremely disappointed by this album considering both of her previous albums were in my Top 20 at least on their years of release. Yes you got it right! I prefer "Messy" & "3 Words" to this, but its Cheryl! (without "Cole" now by the way) and I mean, I love her since she started doing solo music and the lead single really impressed me, but overall the album, well not really. Regardless in saying that, I really love the songs were she reminds us how is she is...what a fierce woman is like!

KARMIN - "Brokenhearted"

I'm so glad that this was the hit that finally had put Karmin unto the charts! Their talent being unrecognized would rather be disappointing to me...It's pretty catchy and generic, at least in order for that to be a hit. But having said that, this song had me having ignore/love issues and that's why it didn't manage to have a higher peak than being a Top 5 Was this my favorite Karmin song / single? Ummm well, stay tune to find out! Cheerio uhh!
Last Year's #68: J. Cole - "Work Out" |
PSY - "Gangnam Style"
 | "...Areumdawo sarangseureowo, Geurae neo hey geurae baro neo hey, Jigeumbuteo gal dekkaji gabolkka, Oppa Gangnam Style, Gangnam Style, Op, op, op, op,..Eh, sexy lady, Op, op, op, op, Oppa Gangnam Style..Eh, sexy lady, Op, op, op, op, Eh-eh-eh, eh-eh-eh.."
Album: PSY 6 (Six Rules), Part 1
Release Date: July 15, 2012
Genre: K-pop
Length: 3:39
Label: YG, Universal Republic, School Boy
Writer(s): Park Jae-Sang, Yoo Gun Hyung
Producer(s): Park Jae-Sang, Yoo Gun Hyung
Weeks on Chart: 7 weeks
Peak Position: #02
My list would not probably complete without having this VIRAL smash! Quite an understatement, but I cant find a more fitting title! But oh well, props to being so infectious (well for me) and the famous horse dance craze, I admit, I also tried emulating!. The only video that crossed 1 billion Youtube views and the sole song based and referred by Nostradamus as the indicator of the apocalypse (which was clearly a fraud) by the way are some of just reasons how HUGE and this song is! Not to mention, a genre-defying song that smashed all over the world regardless of any language! ICONIC!
Last Year's #67: Gym Class Heroes - "Stereo Hearts" (feat. Adam Levine) |
WYNTER GORDON - "Stimela"
 | "...I’ll give you the will of my body, I’ll train you, in the midnight hour, I wanna show you I’m willing, And I’m able, Save me with your powers, Shower me with your wisdom and truth oh..Stimela siembala nambalale, Sibele talaku...Stimela siembala nambalale, Sibele talaku tai......."

Length: 4:31
Label: The Flying Unicorn
Writer(s): Wynter Gordon and Dernst Emile II
Producer(s): D'Mile
Weeks on Chart: 7 weeks
Peak Position: #02
Coming from one of the best dance releases off last year, who would wonder the amazing Wynter would serve such this unexpected delivery?! This song slayed my spirit earlier this year! and talking about that chant in the chorus, its like feeling Im in a ritual trance and as I close my eyes, I cant keep but to envision the beauty of the jungle and wildlife! From start to finish, this song is truly a musical journey. A soul cleanser. Better listen, get life and reflect!

Origin: West London, England
Genres: Pop, dance-rock, dance-pop, R&B

Starting the artists that debuted their music this year to make the list, is Ms. Rita Ora! At first, I was skeptical about her identity as she was being compared to Rihanna in her image and look. But listening to her music proved me wrong, in my opinion, she delivers really great vocals live and I love her musical direction! She's got an amazing personality too! Loved her as a guest judge on X-factor earlier this year! Despite her young age, I actually feel she's beyond her years! She's very hot too and her body is just dayum! Love her and love the music she keeps on bringing! Hoping for more!

Rita is one of the artists I discovered this year.
I like some of her songs but she reminds me
too much of Rihanna
I love Brokenhearted. It's so catchy and fun.
Nice sets
