wow, i was actually rooting for phelps there cos its kinda sad to see someone who's been put on a pedestal so high falling from the top. he was literally 0.06 of a second away from the gold, the south african really threw himself through the water on the last 10m.
I really don't think Phelps even wants to be there. I feel like he felt like he was obligated to go after such a strong showing in 2008 and some convincing for his mom. I think he wants to chill and rightfully so after likely being the most decorated Olympian in history after this year.
