Why are reviews JUST coming out now then? Are there levels to the special screening? Like some for Oscars way before and then some for critics weeks before?
not sure if this is the only reason, but there are some films that have embargos on reviews. so critics aren't allowed to release reviews until after a specific date

All the awards have a certain deadline for movies to be screened for the committees and voters. Critics usually see them shortly before the premiere, and are allowed to publish the reviews usually on the week of the release.

The Critics Choice Awards don't mean that much but Emma really should've won there, she hasn't won ANYTHING yet.
I still think she's winning but it won't be a sweep, she'll most likely win SAG but BAFTA is anyone's game, even Amy's.
This makes me even more mad that Viola went supporting because she could've definitely won in Lead with her narrative and role, both Emma and Natalie are such weak frontrunners.
