There's nothing wrong with clichés, though. Mainly, the only ones who aren't doing them are alternative-rock acts (well, most of them anyway), and the ones who try to be all fancy and different outside of that crowd end up sucking anyway. But my goodness, "Roar" How many co-writers are there?

Are people really surprised Roar is the lead single? Your opinion of quality aside, Roar is the lead single because it's an obvious, undeniable smash hit. Roar is just a cold, calculated cliche of a song. You can practically hear the formula being executed and the 'kerching' of dollar signs.

It's pop by numbers and is enjoying the success it was designed for.

She said multiple times that she was going to go a different route for this album and Roar is just not it. The lead single should have been amazing and a step away from her old music.
