SO late but I finally watched Unfriended tonight. Didn't like it much. That girl cried too damn much. It was annoying.

Tomorrow night we're gonna go see either 10 Cloverfield Lane, The Witch, or The Boy. Maybe we'll see two, I dunno.

Watched 10 Cloverfield Lane earlier today. It's a very taut, controlled, lean thriller, my nerves were constantly on edge. Mary Elizabeth Winstead is so good, and John Goodman gives a really unnerving and layered performance

The ending is gonna bother some/a lot of people but I personally liked it

Totally agree! As much as the ending was a bit out of left-field, it was an EXCELLENT film. Goodman was really good but Winstead was the best in my opinion. She just did amazing playing this strong independent heroine.

About John Gallager's character.... There's a theory that Emmett was actually lying about the girl being kidnapped that was the "new Megan". The theory says that Emmett was actually lying and that it WAS actually Megan. But then he was obsessed with Megan and he kidnapped her and put her in that secret room in the shafts. That's what was causing the original way to the air filtration system to be stuck, her dead body was stuck there (maybe she died trying to escape?). That would explain why Howard was so confused as to why it wasn't opening. Emmett was trying to turn Michelle against Howard, so they could be together in the bunker since he had a thing for her. At the same time, Howard also had a thing for Michelle because the disappearance of Megan left him insane as that was his pride and joy. This would also relate to the ARG where Megan NEVER responded and when Howard's ex-wife said that Megan was never coming back to him (she could blame him for her disappearance?)

Just got back from viewing it. What a fun, intense watch. The acting, production, and cinematography are all A+.

Personally, I liked the ending. Not sure what people were expecting. I hope another Cloverfield gets made.

Going back next week to see it again. I love how the story was told through Michelle's perspective. While watching, I put myself in her situation and thought; 'What would I do?' -- Naturally, I would have thought Howard was insane and would have tried to escape. I would have believed him once I saw that woman outside and saw what the radiation was doing to her.

I love how ****ing creative Michelle was.

I know this is about horror movies, but there's a horror anime called "Yami Shibai" that I would recommend to horror fans... The first thing I've watched in years that made me want to sleep with the lights on.

I have to travel all the way to Chicago but it's so worth it.

Yeah, it most likely is this film called the God Particle.
Rumor is that it will involve the creation of multiple universes due to Tagruato finding this God Particle / machine in an expedition in space. Tagruato is the cause of these multiple universes existing, so that's how they are all involved in the Clover-verse. Each universe has a natural disaster caused by a component of Tagruato's minor companies (Slusho for Cloverfield, Bold Futura for 10 Cloverfield Lane, etc). If the film is loved by fans and critics, I could see them doing more of these stories, since there is 2 more companies in the Tagruato umbrella (a medical research company and a company involving the use of wax).

Also, JJ mentioned doing a Cloverfield 2 (a literal sequel to the first one).

I know I'm late but I just watched It Follows and Poltergeist.

It Follows was ok/nice. I think the ''idea'' of the movie was great and it had potential. It was entertaining.

Poltergeist, damn, almost 2 hours of my life wasted. Bad effects, bad acting, corny and cringey dialogues. Ugh.
