Wrong. All artworks have statements. Not all artworks are unique (they can be pastiched, appropriated, recontextualised, and reproduced i.e. Andy Warhol). Not all artworks are pleasant to look at. If an artwork is 'unpleasant' or controversial, it is usually the intent of the artist, and it supplements the statement they're trying to make.
