He goes back and visits his family in the off season. He still has his lake house there which they use to vacation at when they go back.
They are in the process of building their home out by Wynonna's house. It will be their main residence due to them having a farm on it. I think is is more that fact that Mike understands that Carrie's career is the long term option between the two and the best place for that is happen is in Nashville plus I really think he likes living there and has tons of friends there now

Oh well, hopefully once the child is born they spend more time in Canada. Mike is a Canadian hero here and it seems odd they'd choose Nashville over Peterborough to raise the child when they have both options.
