The real struggle for seniors is deciding whether to possibly double major, minor, or both at once and what one's second major and/or minor should be in. It's just so difficult to figure out something that will fit your life for the next 5 decades - I mean, I'm a dynamic person, and I can't just sit down and say "I want to work in accounting for 50 years so ____ is my major" etc. I want a degree or degrees that offer a wide array of life experiences while still giving me a good shot at consistent employment and a good enough salary to live happily. Not only that, but I have to choose a school that provides a good and reputable education, is affordable to someone with no prior savings, AND has an appropriate social atmosphere for my personality and learning styles. And all these decisions are on my plate at 17 years old.
Lol. You're 17. You're gonna change your mind a million times in the next 4-5 years. Do well in high school but have fun at the same time. Pick a good college and go with the flow, seriously. You don't need to worry about majors and minors till 2nd/3rd year of college. And who knows what the college experience will lead you to at that point.
The days and months are coming closer for me. My school is starting to do some Zone of Choice program which means you can choose your Small Learning Community and High School. I have a few options and looking for some courses.
I have a question... do we decide on courses or do the counselors assign it based on your state scores?
My school was on hard lockdown last week. We had 6+ BRAWLS in one day, plus some jackass pulled the fire alarm...TWICE. It was cold as **** standing outside waiting for the clear to go back in.
4 months and I'll be living the dream in NYC. Senioritis is in FULL effect.
So yesterday, I went to go visit one of my high school options and I went to one that I want to go to.
At first, I was a bit nervous. But when I entered... the atmosphere was great. It was clean, dry and the feeling of being myself freely was kicking in. But we were looking for the guidance office to learn about the school. But then it was closed. So we were about to leave until I saw someone come out... it was a counselor and asked them about registration and stuff like that. But the problem is the school is in a different district and mine is a different district so I have to ask for a permit to go to that school and tell them a good reason why.
