No career news at all, this was nothing but a charity promo appearance and I am happy with that (Hilary has OTHER interviews that she did yesterday and those should be out today, so maybe we will get news on that) I did this recap really fast so I hope it makes sense to everyone:
Quote:
Hilary Duff's @TheEllenShow Appearance: May 11, 2012: Mother's Day Episode:
Ellen introduces Hilary. Hilary comes out in tears and states that she is an emotional wreck from watching the all the pregnant ladies in the audience. Wiping away tears from her face, Hilary says "I hope all you feel is beautiful as you look."
These quotes come from the preview that has already been posted on Ellen's official website:
Hilary on giving birth to Luca Cruz Comrie: “It was very easy. I went into labor at about one in the morning and I very calmly had my bags packed and woke my husband up after about three hours of walking up and down my hallway. Then I’m like, ‘Okay, it’s time to go, let’s go now.’ We got in the car and drove to the hospital and that was it.”
Hilary on her mom and sister's snack run: "My family gets there and we wait all day and everyone is hungry. We're Southern and from Texas and my mom and my sister actually went down to the food court area," Duff explained. And while they were gone the doctor came in said it was time to star pushing. "Things start rolling," she continued. "All of the sudden the doors bust open and my sister and my mom come flying in. They're like, 'We got barbecue chips and root beer, guys.' I [said], 'What? I'm pushing!' They were just arriving for a show with their chips and their root beer." Ellen makes a joke that she thinks that is unsanitary.
Hilary and Ellen then talk about Hilary's last appearance on the show, this is the appearance when she promoted Devoted. Ellen said that she guessed that Hilary was having a boy and then Hilary confessed that she was going to give birth to a boy. If you remember that appearance, you will remember that Ellen gave Hilary a baby hockey player outfit, Hilary took a photo of Luca in the outfit and Ellen showed it. Ellen asked Hilary if she wanted Luca to be a hockey player. Hilary stated that she loved his face so much that she didn't want him to go that route, this is because hockey players typically get black eyes and their teeth knocked out. Hilary said she wasn't going to push him into anything.
Hilary then talks about an amazing new product called MamaRoo, which is a bouncer for babies, Hilary said that she loves this product, Ellen states that since Hilary loves the product so much that the whole audience is getting one.
Hilary and Ellen then talk about Hilary's work with Save The Children and Johnson's Baby Care. Hilary explains the overall theme of the organization, and how she helps prepare baby kits to help out babies during crisis situations in the form of educational initiatives, product donations and financial assistance. So far, the program is definitely paying off. Since its April launch, Johnson's Baby Cares has raised $100,000 for Save the Children.
Ellen has a special Mother's Day gift for Hilary and the gift is a necklace with Luca's initials on it. Ellen says she cannot give the gift to Hilary and not send the audience home without it, she announces that the audience will get the necklace as well. Ellen thanks Hilary for coming on the show and Ellen than plugs the site for Save The Children. The interview concludes with Hilary and Ellen still talking as the show goes into commerical break.
