Well we still have the gulf-stream at the moment so it isn't as bad as the northern/central states. But the country isn't equipped for the kind of winters we are getting. It's really bad.

When I go to Minnesota to visit the boyfriends family during the winter, it's so cold I literally think I'm going to die. At the moment Ireland is still lucky.

I know it pays off in the end, but that is also a personal choice, until it catches on neighborhoods won't use it. What you said also show that many families cannot afford that kind of money even, they are living check to check or they don't make that kind of decision.

I'm sure my parents would say no. Who knows!?! But we are upper middle class, we can afford but they will say no. Lucky for me is I'm moving out in a couple years.

Yes I think in the USA we have a lot of promoters for this type. Still is politics though.

I proved myself wrong? Global warming is about climate change, some countries will get warmer and some will get colder, it is to do with weather patterns, tidal patterns not just the temperature.

Yeah well that isn't a disaster if it's part of the natural weather. I'm sure you own a TV and have seen on the news the utter devastation a severe hurricane or tidal wave can do.

So you understand how it feels to be in US. Minnesota is definitely the worst, it's northern central state and also suffered the lake effect from the great lake.

All I heard is England has a lot of rain, don't know much more of other places in UK or Ireland.
I don't know I have been in Northern US almost all my life so I'm used to our extreme hot summer and extreme winter. I'm 2 hours from NYC.

Ireland is normally pretty dull. No extreme weather at all but the last few years we have been getting quite hot summers and seriously cold winters.

I am so disgusted by the people who act like this is not they're problem. Yes, not everywhere on Earth is seeing its temperature rise; "global warming" is a misnomer because it is more of a global climate change. But the overall effect is a steady rise in the average temperature of Earth's surface, which is having some devastating effects worldwide: species are going extinct because they can't adapt fast enough; the polar ice caps are melting and sea levels are rising, which will flood out many small islands in the South Pacific; crops yields are being affected all over the world. This may be an environmental crisis, but it has very real consequences for everyone who is a citizen of this planet. You should care!

The whole point is that we do have some control. By altering some of our behaviour, going without uneccessary things and making changes to industry we can make a difference. With an attitude like yours we will get nowhere. Let's just hope there are enough people around who care that we can still make a difference.

Global warming is a serious problem people... Are some of u guys not thinkin what could happen to EARTH in the next 2 years if people dont start working on the problem now.. Earthquakes, tidal wakes, and hurricans in places not know to have thoes issues could come.. And we could fear the worse of a super volanco erruption... but we need to promote a healther living for the world if we want to get a hold on global warming.. I

if you're talking about Katrina type situations, thats a natural part of the Weather cycle. There have been much worse hurricanes in the past, even hundreds of years ago.

With the advent of industrialization decades ago, Global Warming has been triggered. It will eventually happen and us human species will adapt to the emerging environmental change. However, I agree we should take precautionary measures to prevent this from happening sooner than projected.
