I need her to go back to that sort of music. Just no 'No matter gay, straight or bi' or 'I am my hair' sort of stuff.

Such huge, timeless songs

"scalp, ddrag, kii, gather ha"
Too bad that I was talking about the video while you're talking about the song itself, song that I love on top of that.

Well that's fair enough, but Gaga's vision between the song and video is linked very closely, like with all her songs (bar TEoG and DWUW). Hate on one you hate the other, at least in my view.

True, but luckily when I listen to BTW, I hear an uplifting colorful gay dance anthem and don't think about that Men In Black/Indépendance day video.

I don't hate dark videos perse (I love Bloody Mary and it would probably have gotten an even darker video) but I'm just explaining why the BTW video struggled with views despite selling over 8 million copies.

I'm not usually that negative in here, but the fact that what Taylor stans are experiencing right now is what we thought we'd be getting in the week of November 11-18. ARTPOP was done so wrong, by everyone.
There's always next era. Roll on 2018.

So basically you picture the tragic second Born This Way video clip that Nick Knight posted on tumblr? No thanks.

I don't picture anything, in my mind there's just no BTW video.

The reason I love Born This Way so much, is because her artistic vision was - on the most part - met 100%. Even TEoG video, which obviously didn't stick to the original plan, still used a scene that was written into the original treatment of the video.
She was given full creative control and it's her most ambitious and bold era of her career thus far. That's why it's my favourite album, and time in her career. February 2011 - February 2013

The Grammy-submitted executive producer of Grammy-submitted album ARTPOP?
Yes, she is. On an experimental, urban trap record. In an ideal world we'll get an album of Reloaded, Out of Control (Drew Stevens Remix) and Do What U Wants. In the real world, however, we'll get Jewels N Drugs x15 with a bonus track that sounds like a Ciara reject
if we're lucky.

I never got the hate for the Alejandro video. It's flawless.
BTW video is pretty good if you look at it from directing/editing/cinematography point of view etc. (Especially the dance scenes) but yeah it was weird
The only backlash there was about Alejandro was in the USA, I seriously don't get Americans sometimes

Alejandro was huge in the UK, it seemed it anyway. Not sure of any peak positions but over here music videos are kind of irrelevant, radio is far more important and Alejandro was played more than any BTW single here.
Same for Do What U Want, radio got behind that **** more than they had since Bad Romance over here and everyone loved it, unfortunately she didn't take advantage of it. I think it even ended up doing better than Applause in the UK

The people being negative in here can **** off
The same whining and moaning day after day
This base is not fun to be a part of when there are some people who are constantly bitter
Either get over your issues, focus on the positives right now, or simply stop posting in here
Beyond tired of people bitching over songs, music videos, producers and DJs, commercial decisions, and charts.

Oh yes sorry, I'll just go on to talking about the amazing beat and writing by Gaga on Nature Boy... Oh wait.
There's nothing else to talk about. I was praising Born This Way on the previous page and any shade I or anyone (other than a few) throw in here is obviously in jest because if we really hated Gaga we wouldn't bother posting in here, and we'd jump ship like most of the base has in the past 12 months.
The more we fight in here, the more chance there is that lurkers will start reporting us like they started doing in August/September. And where did that get us? With some of the most active members banned. But carry on, if that's what you want.

I forget we can't talk about music that isn't dancepop

Liking or disliking Gaga is irrelevant. My problem is with the same complaints and arguments being thrown around constantly, as though Gaga was dropped or is living on the streets or something.

We've had plenty of discussion on Cheek to Cheek. Everyone in this thread has supported it, and I love jazz music, but come on. It's hardly a very stimulating genre. All you can really discuss around Cheek to Cheek is the promotion and the vocals.
And on both fronts, this era has been amazing. So there is no discussion.

Well, to be fair, the complaints when it comes to Gaga's career are pretty consistent since 2008 - stuff gets messy quite a lot. I've actually thought the base has been relatively positive recently, lots of discussion of the next era and such. But whatever, you're right I guess.

Lmao, okay sis. No one's forcing you to stay, read or participate in any of the discussion in this base, positive or otherwise.
