Margaery should've just done the walk of shame like Cersei did. Sure it was an agonizing and humiliating experience for Cersei but it also somewhat removed her from the clutches of the High Sparrow. Marg tried to play him and was probably going to pull it off, but it kept her too close to the HS for too long which enabled Cersei to take them all out in one fell swoop.

this. Varys knows what's the current situation in the Westeros, how Lannisters are alone, Euron is weak and then there's the North which is not very strong atm (plus other small houses not strong enough). Why would she need to get married when she can beat all of them.

It feels so forced. The fact Dany and Jon will probably end up loving each other is so cliche. I really hope it doesn't happen. I get the ice and fire alliance against WW, but a marriage?
The fact we had already the story Jon-Ygritte + Jon is probably dying at the final battle, makes me think it's not happening tho.

The best way to win a war is to do so with as few casualties as possible. Yeah, she probably could take the lannister forces in kl, the vale, the north etc while suffering heavy casualties and appearing to be a tyrant to the small folk, but why not fight those who you HAVE to and get the rest to submit through diplomacy, marriage etc? The more she fights, the greater risk as well. Especially as the story seems to be pointing to Dany being a fair ruler who will probably usher in a more democratic era in westeros.

I know! Maergery was almost there! She was gonna pull it off without the bloodshed and she was the only smart person in the room too but those idiots didn't let her leave!!!
