I am listening to the album again now. BSE sounds so out of place.

SOML is weird in that it has no replay value but it's still one of their best. The lack of replay value is what places it in the middle tier of their discography overall but if I listened to each song in their discography just once, SOML would be in the top tiers.

The chorus is great (in the studio). I love all the backing vocals, too.

I know this is another issue for a separate thread but it's so annoying how everyone is either "straight" or "gay". Like the whole concept of fluid sexuality is foreign even to a large portion of the LGBT community and it has to stop.

I'm actually surprised and really pleased that they managed to incorporate a sound that is helping them break out of their core demographic a bit. SOML has turned into a bigger hit than we all expected.

"Something Great" is a song that I underrate. It sounds really good at the moment (with the exception of the outro, of course) but I always forget about it and overlook it in comparison to the rest of the album.

Oh I agree. I feel the boys just need some rest and some more practice to nail it.

Although Niall, Liam and Zayn did very well on their last performance though.

Oh and another thing is this album really did something good. Each of the boys has an almost eerily perfect lines in each song. Like Niall's verses in SOML for instance.

Exactly. It feels more fulfilling. While Niall and Louis aren't the strongest singers, they have A LOT of personality.
