Agreed with all of this. At this point everyone who is stupid has already died (except for Jon who has plot armor) so it's only bad or smart bitches from now on. There's a reason Cersei wanted the Tyrells to be in the Great Sept. At this point Cersei only trusts her maester, the mountain and Jamie, everyone else she probably sees as filth cause they mocked her and disrespected/underestimated her.

It's occurring to me that even if they manage to survive the Whitewalkers, Westeros will never be what it was before. Between Jon's (rather depleted) wildling friends and Dany's vast Dothraki army, the days of Lords and noble houses and court life and political intrigue are doomed to fall to the wayside.

Considering how many years of warfare have been going on in Westeros, I'm not sure that the continent even has much left in the way of a populace.

According to GRRM, Dany was born 8-9 months after Jon and during that time both Lyanna and Rhaegar were dead.

I've been saying since the episode yesterday that Cersei knows she is ****ed. But she's going to go out swinging and at least she got to spend a little time on the Iron Throne before she gets killed.

Speaking as someone who is a Cersei fan, I root for her because she knows how to play the game. As she once said, in these game of thrones you either win or you die, there is no middle ground.

She's not nearly as clever as she thinks she is but she is deliciously evil, thus entertaining to watch. Every drama based show needs a villain and Cersei Lannister is a well-crafted female villain with depth and layers to her character. We do acknowledge she's a deplorable person, though. But in those medieval times, a female coming from a prominent family, especially one who is aiming to be Queen, needed to be strong, cold, calculating, and manipulative. The men were. Cersei is still alive because she is the way she is.

If she hadn't die then Olenna wouldn't easily agree to Varys and the Ellaria's plan. She needed 1 more reason to hate Cersei and the Lannisters. The death of her family was the last straw.
