The world of music has come along way since the days of bebop back in the 50’s and 60’s. Those days will be showcased tonight when the Drifters and the Platters performs at the American Red Cross Guam Chapter’s Red Ball. In a recent interview, Sonny Turner, of the Platters, and Bobby Hendricks, of the Drifters, explained that with the exception of a few performers today such as Boys II Men, Beyonce and Christina Aguilera, other groups just don’t have what it takes when it comes to singing. Turner says that in the studios today, artists can alter their voices to make them sound better, which he believes doesn’t bring out their true voice and sounds manufactured.
