Madonna has made a career based upon crime. She's lied about her life, how she made it and how much she puts into her music. She steals from other artists. She's a mean old hag. She is a mediocre performer with mediocre music. She NEVER shined, not at one point in her career was Madonna not overshadowed by another artist, be it Janet, Micheal, Mariah, Whitney, Britney, or Gaga. She is the queen of pop by default nothing more!
Was it Madonna's musical ability that kicked the door down for women in pop or was it the shock value?
Besides, Mariah isn't even really pop. So comparing her on a pop scale isn't even an accurate comparison. Yet every night the same three people are doing this, knowing it's an unfair advantage. That's like pulling Madonna into a comparison on an R&B scale. It's ridiculous. But DRAGGG HUNTY
Madonna's musical ability is much, much greater than Mariah's. Some of her albums are more acclaimed than Moo's entire discography added together (literally) and are much more innovative.

She isn't the queen of pop by default. She's had dozens and dozens of threats to her over the years but she's managed to stick around and consistently deliver and surprise people. Her career is amazing.

I doubt if We Belong Seperated (Relevance & I) and ABMB are that globally remembered. But the other three are pretty undeniable. Shame they're far from her best.

It's more of a matter of everyone downplaying Mariah for no reason than comparing her to Madonna. But everyone is ignoring THAT. Which is the point I'm making. Your obsession with the comparison to another legend.
Mariah doesn't have 1/2 the discography Madonna does. Her singles are good and her albums are terrible. Madonna kicked the door down for women in pop (Cher said this herself!) but Mariah was just the boring, basic Katy Perry of her time with better vocals.
