I mostly just want this era and the music to connect with people because I think it has the potential to have Adele level success if only people knew about it The music is THAT good

I'm assuming by the 21st PI will have lost most of its airplay but if it can manage to hang on or even increase in airplay it's definitely got a shot.

No it wasn't. Make Me has 50 million Spotify streams after almost 3 months, PI has 33 million after 1 month. Make Me has 37 million YouTube views after more than 2 months, PI has 30 million after 3 weeks.

I would a promo music video for Come To Mama, the song reminds me the 50s,
Gaga dressed as a cowgirl in a farm with lots of animals and milk.

I'm honestly not worried about sales this time around. Of course I'd love for it to be successful and I'm rooting for it, staying positive, but I really don't care much if it doesn't. Honestly because she's happy, she isn't stressing about it.... this is the album she wanted and needed to make, and it feels genuine. That was her goal and her focus, and she was successful at it. People will see that and commend her for it.
I think, despite having lower numbers, this album era won't be seen as a ~flop~ or painted that way by the media the way ARTPOP was. She's got way more respect and acclaim this time around, she's headlining the Super Bowl, etc.
Besides, all of her interviews this era give off the vibe that she's trying to win new fans and introduce herself to a new demographic. She isn't catering to her die hards, she's trying to get people to listen to her that wouldn't normally think they'd like her.

Has anyone noticed how similar this era's promo campaign is to Glory? Make Me came out 6 weeks before Glory with minimal promotion then once the album came out, she went all out on promo that week (Carpool Karaoke, VMAs). Perfect Illusion was also release 6 weeks before Joanne with minimal promotion, and on the album release week she is doing Carpool Karaoke + SNL. Not to mention both albums were available for pre-order on a Thursday along with a promo single. Bobby is for sure taking notes. I think he is a Britney stan too?

Since the next dive bar show is the night before the album release. You think she'll perform 3 new songs? She performed the countryish songs in Nashville...maybe she'll perform the uptempo songs next (DIC, DH, JW). Maybe she'll go to NYC.

So out of all the eras in history, he chose to take notes from the Glory era?

Tbh I'd rather her do Come to Mama, Grigio Girls, and Hey Girl*. I'm so looking forward to hearing the three bangers you mentioned and I don't really want the best songs spoiled again.
*was gonna do Just Another Day but I don't want the closing track spoiled either.

Make Me had 21 million Spotify streams 1 month into it's release, Perfect Illusion has 33 million.
It took Make Me 43 days to hit 30 million YouTube views, it took Perfect Illusion 21 days.
Is this enough tea?

I'd like to think Joanne isn't delusional. She knows this is a hard sell and the album is most likely DOA. People will ask, "if she doesn't care, why is she doing all this promo?" and I mean, of course she's going to promote. She's proud of her work. She wants as many people to hear it as possible. Even artists selling CDs out of the trunk of their car do their best to promote for the same reason. I just doubt she's going to be having meltdowns over the charts. ATRL on the other hand...
