It's annoying how the "urban" a.k.a. black community has this love-hate relationship with Rihanna. She's the biggest popstar on the planet and breaking all of these incredible records as a 25 year-old black woman, but because she's the "anti-Beyoncé" she gets so much contempt. We need to get it together.

Beyoncé (after Oprah and Michelle Obama) is the queen of Black America. She has become the standard by which all black female music acts are judged, and because Rihanna is so different from her, it's like she's been rejected in a way. She's also foreign, and I think that plays a part as well.

Most people assume if a singer is black they have to be a powerhouse vocalist and grew up singing in church.

I want a "ghetto goth" look from her on the red carpet BUT I want her rocking all that glam in a deep royal purple silk dress. Would love to see her in that color. I don't think I've seen her in purple since she performed Unfaithful at that one concert like 5 years ago.

I also think it has something to do with her Carribean roots and therefor she is held to other standards than if she were African American.
I mean, her style of clothing and hair, her transition to pop and dance music, it all comes really naturally while when African American woman change up things so frequantly (like Kelly Rowland doing dance) they are criticized for it in America, while in Europe for instance we embrace it.

Don't wanna sound racist but sometimes I feel like the American black community can be one of the most judgemental groups.

IDC fans and the media can try to shade Rih by calling her a singles artist but at least her singles will be more remembered than any of those said albums by others. Literally no current artist has released an album that will be as praised as 21. So imo Adele is the only album artist

And the best part is, Rih STILL sells albums. I love it when people are caught off guard by Rih's selling powers and all they can do is stumble and backpedal on their words. I love seeing that reaction in real life so I like stanning in real life. Is that crazy of me?
