I'm laughing at Disney dumping so much money into a Pandora-themed world for their theme parks. Will these upcoming Avatar sequels do well? I expect the first one will but I can't see it having much success if it brings another basic storyline.

He was in the flashbacks in THBP. But you're right he wasn't in TPOA ( I should've remebered that since it's one of my favorites from the series). Wasn't trying to drag HP since I love it I just wanted to point out that it makes no sense to attack a series of movies for having the same antagonist over the course of multiple films.
