How does Recurrency even work? Does Beyonce's record company just go much harder for her old songs to get played over Britney's or do the DJ's just simply prefer Bey's music? Radio confuses me.
My guess is that they try to stay more in the lane of music that achieved its noteworthy success in its initial run and still manages to retain that sense of 'memorability', while not sounding completely alien against the more current, contemporary foundation of today's sound.
So you're more likely to hear "Irreplaceable" spun a few times a month than you would "Lucky" in probably two years.
The ...Baby and Oops! singles have that same feel that the Like a Virgin/True Blue and Fame/Fame Monster singles have...they are flawless, timeless pop classics that will live forever and completely encapsulate the sound of the time
There is nothing "tricky" about Beyonce boo. Pop doesn't =success. Honestly Pop can be anything, depending on the state of music at the time. Pop is what IS popular. A few years ago, before EDM took over the charts,Urban was "Pop"
Get educated my dear
I meant in the sense that she doesn't make music similar to Madonna's (like the same market/demographic) but ok

Yes it kinda makes sense now, although i did hear "Oops!' at the cinema last week, can't remember when i heard that prior
I just find it absolutely hysterical that people claim Mariah is over, yet looking at Madonnas and Mariahs most recent studio album efforts, the sales say otherwise.
Madonna- Over 100 million viewers for Superbowl Half-time performance promo, lead single featuring one of the hottest artists, plus tour ticket album inclusions, yet we have just enough to secure the #10 position for said lead single, failure to secure platinum sales of said lead single, MDNA album is currently at 521,000, and 1.8 worldwide.
LOCAL OVER Mariah-Basic morning show promo, late night, solo lead single, we have top ten #7 position, platinum sales (1.7million), Memoirs is currently at 546, 000 and 2 million worldwide.
Where do you live? Turn on an Urban station, wait 10 minutes and Drunk in Love is bound to play.
Bey has always been bigger than Britney on radio (besides 2011). Crazy in Love, Irreplaceable, Halo & Single Ladies always get recurrent airplay where I am.
This post reminds of one member that claimed Beyoncé was the Queen of Pop because she got played on pop radio
Can't wait to have to avoid the radio when Katy's smash new remix comes out. The THIRST of her label. Wonder if they will put up billboards like they did for Uncle.

I think Moo is a milf if it makes you feel better
Memoirs went against Hard Candy no? Hard Candy is over 4 million.
