I think he meant that he wanted to align himself with her quickly because he didn't want people to stereotype him. Whereas without the cameras he would have taken her like anyone else and taken more time with it. Which is a pretty valid concern, people don't know how to tread. That's honestly how Audrey got so many people to trust her so quickly.

His initial concern wasn't really out of line, but throwing it into the air after getting into a fight with her is kind of a crappy thing to do. Even if she wasn't there to hear it, she'll know it happened when she gets back home or when someone that was there eventually tells her. It's not transphobic per se, just a jerk move imo.

Days ago, before any of this exploded, they speculated as to whether or not she could be lying about being trans to help her game. People lie about crazy ****, like having a sick wife, just to get ahead in the game. The conversation was quick and lighthearted. Jason said that it would be a good lie because she can't be proven false, they can't just pull her pants down. Da'Vonne said that if she's lying then she apologizes to the trans community because that's ****ed up. Both agreed that they don't think she's lying. And that was IT, two minutes long at max.

Call it ignorant if you want, but trying to label them as transphobes just for speculating about a known liar is stupid and I'm not here for it.
