Ruthless. What a PUNCH. The only other girl with such a dominant breakout was Mariah.
Tru.
The way she only had 2 singles for a whole decade miss Top 10 & every single make T20 for a decade.
It'd literally be like if every Rihanna single released from her debut til now went T10 except 2.
Heartbreaker went T10 on overall radio though; like Music which went T10 and went #1 due to sales with a discount.
TGIFY was just a forgotten reckless discount though.
But the thing is queen donated all sales of that single to charity. She also did the same with Hero. Charitable queen. Call me when your faves donate all the sales of 2 #1's to charity.

"Music" was #1 for 4 weeks and was #2 on pop radio The album also sold more than Rainbow.

Why is Never Forget You not here? Its because it was released as an A-side for Without You?
Also funny how Without You despite not going number #1 on the United States it would become the song that would open the doors for massive success in Europe for her and it would become her biggest hit globally to date if we are not counting AIWFCIY.
All those forgotten / never-been hits in Europe. We only know Without You here. Kiii.
Lol. AIWFCIY, Hero, Fantasy, Dreamlover, When You Believe, Heartbreaker, I Know What You Want, and to a point -- Against All Odds were hits throughout most Europe markets.

Pop Radio isn't the only radio though. Overall radio is what matters, and it was still a T10 hit at overall radio.
Never said the album was less successful either so idk why you brung that up.

Angelina Jolie loves Star Wars just as much as you do http://vnty.fr/1EYukfa
Angelina Jolie has likely been interviewed thousands of times in her movie career—asked all sorts of deeply personal questions by probing journalists. And in an Interview magazine piece that hit the Internet on Thursday—Jolie’s birthday, coincidentally—the Oscar winner gets a chance to play reporter, asking Ex Machina star Domhnall Gleeson all manner of charmingly framed queries—about his family life, acting, and the upcoming Star Wars reboot, The Force Awakens. The conversation is so natural, and the rapport between Jolie and Gleeson (whom she directed in Unbroken) so easy, that the actress ends up volunteering a fair amount of fascinating details about her own personal life.
One such admission, for example, is her favorite Star Wars character. When Gleeson reveals that he grew up more interested in Indiana Jones than Star Wars, Jolie chimes in, “I'm personally a Boba Fett fan.”
Knowing full well that any movie studio would move mountains to get the actress in the role of the bounty hunter, Gleeson jokingly suggests she reach out to director J.J. Abrams.
Quote:
GLEESON: Well, you make a phone call and I'm pretty sure, Angie, that they'll have you in, in a second.
JOLIE: Can Boba Fett have a missus? Well, put in a good word for me, then.
GLEESON: Could you imagine? "Hey, I'm calling to put in a good word for Angie." [Jolie laughs]
No mention of a discount. The #1 was spurred by the physical release of the single, which was the norm back then and the way Mariah and everyone else got their #1s for the most part. The same week the song was also Top 10 on radio and moving upwards.
I just love the 1999-2001 era in pop so much. Just funky bubblegum perfection all around.
@ you having a pic with your fave in it SAVED and ready.

In the US 'Without You' was the single, but 'Never Forget You' was on the disc too. Technically in Billboard it's credited as Without You / Never Forget You, but at the end of the day, NFY was never a hit here or played by radio. The single was WY.

I wasn't trying to call her out, most #1's were discounted then when they were released. I think it was Eternium who posted about the discounted #1's. It just had to do with the singles market dying. Destiny's Child, J. Lo, etc had discounted #1's during that time too. But people only like to bring up Mariah's.
