It's so that people can turn around when Gaga is on the runway. I was in the pit twice in Sweden and I found it that at the beginning of the show the pit looks only half full because everyone wants to come as close to the stage as possible. This changes a few songs in though when people are dancing and enjoying themselves, but it's still never completely packed. So I guess it's for safety reasons.

Common sense dictates that they cannot pack it completely full of people, and normally when Gaga is on stage, all of the fans move and pack into one side, leaving the other side looking "empty".
She should do more UK dates in December when she comes back to Europe.
I agree, but I'm still not sure why they waited so damn late to announce the Russian shows. They should've just added them in August/September like the rest of the European dates.
Safe to say that if the Latin American tour dates were doing as bad as everyone thinks, they would have been cancelled since the dates aren't that far away.
