I can't wait for Adam's next performance. Hopefully he will shock the world again.

Adam takes enormous risks with his voice and his head voice - he truly possesses the range of a Counter-tenor - and this is what allows him to transcend to unbelievable heights.

Also, he is equipped with stellar technical skills and I feel this will become even more apparent in the weeks ahead.

Simon was totally off base in this respect and I don’t think he fully comprehends what Adam is trying to accomplish on this show. There has never been a talent quite like Adam. Not only is he extremely gifted, but he is creative and this combination is a potent recipe for success during and post Idol.

Wow = just wow! The control he exhibits in his falsetto range is perfect - almost inhuman!

What's amazing is that his arrangement isn't even in a minor key. It's arranged on a mid-Eastern Phrygian Dominant scale - used in MidEastern music (e.g., Hava Nagila) - which is different from both Western major and minor scales.

For instance, a C major scale is:
C - D - E - F- G- A - B- C

And a C minor scale:
C- D- Eb- F- G- A- B- C

The Phrygian Dominant scale that this arrangement uses is:
C - Db - E - F - G - Ab - Bb - C

When he did with ROF is extremely difficult not just because of the range, but because the scale that is the foundation of the arrangement isn't natural to a Western singer's ear. It's eerie to me the ease with which Adam sings ROF using this scale. Especially on the studio
version, you can hear Adam's pitch-perfect control as he moves from one odd interval to another, in some places even using some typically mid-Eastern trills, perfectly touching every single note. His key change is mind-boggling to me; compounding the use of the Phrygian Diatonic scale with sliding up into an unnatural interval and immediately transitioning into another key using the same scale.

I have no doubt whatsoever that RKPS completely missed what they were witnessing because not a one of them had a clue as to what he had really accomplished with this song.

I've said this before, but with Adam, forget about the drama, forget about the nail polish and guyliner, forget about the emo hair and clothes, even forget about the one in a hundred thousand vocal range. This man has a very rare, phenomenal gift for musicality without which he could not possibly arrange and sing these uber difficult pieces -- and make it sound natural and effortless. It boggles my mind.

Adam has a very rare tessitura (tessitura is the part of a person's voice where they are the most comfortable with/sound the best, as opposed to range, which is how high/low a person can reach with their voice). Countertenors are VERY hard to come by, and my gosh Adam is a true countertenor... he doesn't even need to go into falsetto to reach some of the notes that normal males would find hard to reach even in falsetto!

I'm rooting for Megan now (since Alexis got the boot :cry. Megan has a very pleasant timbre in her voice, like Pink except magnified. She is like the polar opposite of Adam, she is a contralto (which means she can go very deep and still sound amazing ).
