MTV has already announced T.I. and Rihanna as performers for this year’s MTV Video Music Awards. However, we hear that in addition to her own solo performance of Disturbia, Rihanna will join T.I. for the first-ever performance of their collaboration Live Your Life, the new single off T.I.’s Paper Trail.

The 2008 MTV VMAs will air live on September 7th at 9 p.m. from Paramount Pictures Studios in Hollywood.

Someone added Paramore's "crushcrushcrush" to the list of Best Art Direction nominees at Wikipedia... This person did that because of this bit at this MTV article:

Earlier Thursday, MTV revealed that Paramore (nominated in the Best Art Direction in a Video and Best Rock Video categories) will rock the crowd with a performance of their hit "Misery Business," while Pink is set to perform her new single, "So What," and Rihanna (who could walk away with the Moonman for Best Female Video) will deliver her latest smash, "Disturbia."

^ I don't know (whoever added them DID get Paramore's nod right...), but I doubt they are real since they have categories like "Best Collaboration" (which they didn't announce as coming back), "Best Overall Performance" (which they got rid of in 1987 and didn't announce as coming back), and "Best Concept in a Video" (which was actually "Best Concept Video"--no "in a"--, was eliminated around 1988, and wasn't announced as coming back either)

I'm going with everything below Director (and why do we now have Best British Video? They already do that for the EMAs) is fake until MTV releases a statement. Not to say Britney did not get a Best Choreography nod for "Gimme More," or Katy Perry got nommed for anything else besides sucking as a human, I just prefer to think not.
