We'll probably get a snippet of the single within the next week, the VMA commercial can't be that far away and they almost always involve the newest single in some way...

On May 2nd we knew that she recorded song California Girls (feat. Snoop Dogg), on May 4th was confirmed that California Gurls (feat. Snoop Dogg) will be first single and it will be released on May 25th. On May 6th snipped of CG demo leaked and on May 7th California Gurls was posted to radio stations and digitaly released was on May 11th
Suppose it isn't directly stated to be the single in that article, but I'm pretty sure everyone just accepted it was. She was dropping loads of California Girl/Snoop Dogg hints prior to that.

If it is Aug 26th, I'm ok with it, as long as there is an onslaught of promo lined up until the album is released.
Gaga is likely going to be #1, so let her have her time, and then Katy can shine, and we can all be happy.
I also don't want the video right away, cuz Gaga will be #1 anyways with a huge lead, so it will be wasted. Keep the video until a week or two before the album comes out. Keep the promo coming.
And if it is true, I hope they aren't banking on overtaking Gaga in her 2nd week. That would be too risky. Let Gaga have it for 3 weeks, and then release the video and more promo.

I don't want an immediate release of Katy's music video. Wait for the right time and create more intrigue about it then just giving it to us straight. Let us get excited for the song then let us get excited for the video.
