How exactly are all the Week 5 eliminations shocking?
The 2009 elimination wasn't shocking at all. Simon Cowell had it out for Danni.
Ever since two of her Over's in 2008 sent two of Simon's boys packing in two consecutive weeks, he basically ruined Danni, starting off by killing off all three of her overs from Weeks 6 to 8. Then in the 2009 series, he killed off Rachel & Lucie by sending the vote to deadlock which brought Danni's category down to Stacey and then he gave her the final punch by giving Stacey the death spot in the final. Then in 2010, Aidan and Paije were eliminated in two consecutive weeks. In addition, both Leon Jackson & Matt Cardle were dropped from Syco, both of Danni's winning acts.
Danni couldn't even escape in Australia because she lost two of her Overs in consecutive weeks as well. Dami is like Danni's only act in the history of her mentoring that actually has a shot at having a successful career.
So Lucie's elimination wasn't shocking, because Danni was targeted as revenge.
2010 wasn't a shock either: Tracye was never gonna win
2011: As if Tulisa needed two groups. Little Mix was all she needed
2012: Kye had already been in the bottom two. No surprise.
2008 is really the only shocking elimination in this show.
