Speak In Code-Eve 6
April 24, 2012
-Despite the band being in the music industry since the 90's, their music was just okay for me but they dropped this album and it's like they haven't aged at all and even made me like them more. Though the lyrics are not so meaningful but they're direct to the point and sounds good when mixed with their energetic beats.

-I was worried that they wouldn't be able to replicate how good their first album was but when they released this one, I enjoyed it from start to finish at the very first listen!

Gossamer-Passion Pit

-I've heard of this act for quite a long time but I've always associated them with house music and someone who makes music that would be played in elevators and hotel lobbies so I ignored listening to their music but I've been seeing Take A Walk on everybody's daily countdowns so I gave them a listen and instantly fell in love and downloaded this album, plus their previous records. I'm glad to have my misconcepcion corrected because they deliver amazing beats. It has this dreamy vibe that makes me enjoy this album when I want to relax.

Honestly speaking, when they were at their peak several years ago and radio stations and tv would play their music most of the time, I wasn't really a fan and found them annoying. But when their presence slowed down, I decided to check out their whole discography and I actually liked what I heard. So when it was announced that they were releasing a new album last year, I was anticipating for it together with their fans this time. Though the content is nothing groundbreaking and the songs' lyrics may seem sugarcoated too much, it's still an enjoyable album for me.

Here's another English band on the list. This feels like a throwback to their older music which is not bad at all. It has a nice collection of songs that blend well but I like the upbeat songs here more.

Push Rewind-Chris Wallace

I was worried when I heard that he was going to make a solo record because I was looking forward to another TWTA album but after releasing first and only single so far, my worries lessened. Although he seems to have fully taken the pop route, he still makes good catchy and fun music out of it. The album is full of tracks that contains some spunk, proving that he still hasn't changed even if he's gone solo now.

When Your Compass Breaks-All The Right Moves

-I just randomly discovered this band by downloading their album one day and I can't exactly point out what makes them great but what I do know is that I love all of the tracks on this album and I sing along to them.

Red-Taylor Swift

-Oh what is this mess Taylor!I was expecting that this would be my #1 album this year or at least top 3 but then she releases this abomination to her discography. It's clearly her worst album by miles. It's almost filled with recycled melodies and you should take a listen to
Paradise Fears' Red mash-up to see how some songs would just fit well together with just using the same melody from one song. Song lyrics on most songs were, let's just say it wasn't her best, I've never ever expected her to be so repetitive on one album, like ever. I mean, the word "never" and "dancing" has pretty much appeared on every single song, not that I have a problem with that since she's done it a few times before but I was expecting something better this time. Some songs had potential with great verses only to be ruined by great choruses or bridges (see "The Lucky One","Treacherous" or "Holy Ground"). Although it has 22 tracks on the deluxe edition, I felt like it was too short since I keep on waiting for some good songs. I do have to commend her for the look/image/album cover etc. because it's better than SN. But I want those curls back though. If it's any consolation, she lands on her lucky number this year. I'm so glad she ended her relationship with that guy from 1D cause I badly want her next album already and forget that this has happened.

In Your Atmosphere-Alex Goot

-I don't know if anyone knows him but he's a youtube star and he usually makes great covers. He finally released an album of his own consisting of his own original songs. I was greatly pleased with the album filled with good lyrics and sweet melodies. He proves on this album that he deserves to be more than a youtube star and should be played on tv and radio as well.

-I've always loved her ever since OTH. I think I've already mentioned that when her songs were already charting on my countdown since last year. She's so pretty and talented and I have been waiting for this album since 2011. Although she's going country, I believe her voice is quite versatile enough to create good pop songs if she wanted to.
