That's a very good point. It would at least give Lin enough time to get some circulation back in her body. Though she wouldn't look so heroic if she did that, but more like a bad ass bitch. What she should have said is "I'll take you there, but not if you take away my bending." and then thought of something.

I'ma kinda glad she didn't say a word, whether it was lying or not. It shoes her integrity that she's willing to risk something that's apparently permanent as taking away your bending forever just to keep the Avatar safe.

I don't think Amon would kill her but it's probable he would've taken her bending away right after. He hasn't killed anyone yet. At the very least she could've distracted/delayed him so that Korra/ United Forces could have more time to plan an attack.

I mean it'd probably fail but I'd rather try and fail than just accept failure. However as RatedG noted it wouldn't be as badass and lying would denote her integrity for the sake of the plot.
