Feel like a brand new person
But you make the same old mistakes
I don’t care I’m in love
Stop before it’s too late
Feel like a brand new person
But you make the same old mistakes
I finally know what is love
You don’t have what it takes
Stop before it’s not too late
I know there’s too much at stake
Making the same mistakes
And I still don’t know why it’s happening
Stop while it’s not too late
And I still don’t know
ANTI's impact. At #3 is New Person Same Old Mistakes, and is the closer track for Currents. This particular song has gained much popularity this year from being Karoake'd by Rihanna (I lowkey prefer her version), and being promoted by Childish Gambino's Atlanta TV show. The way it turned from irrelevancy to a fan favorite is quite interesting. The track does make a nice closer for the album and I always liked it. The bridge is one of my favorite parts. No one hated this track or felt it was a threat so there's a reason why it got this high.
Both of the top 2 tracks are 11 worthy to me so this is great. I'll be posting the winner in a moment. #2 has more 10s than #1 but less 11s. It all comes down to some outlier scores that have affected it.
Someone said they left together
I ran out the door to get her
She was holding hands with Trevor
Not the greatest feeling ever
Said, "Pull yourself together
You should try your luck with Heather"
Then I heard they slept together
Oh, the less I know the better
The less I know the better
At #2 is Less I Know The Better. Perhaps the catchiest & one of the most relatable songs in the rate, it really grew on me. The throwback groove vibes & synths are I'm really glad to see this with a 9 average. It was only beaten however by the album's opener.
